This is a General Radio (GenRad) Type 803A Shorting Cap Dial Box, Serial No. 1248, designed for use with the General Radio 803-A RF Impedance Bridge. This instrument is used to measure impedance magnitude (ohms) and phase angle across a frequency range of 60 MC to 500 MC, with calibrated dial readings for each frequency step.
The unit features two precision rotary dial controls, a front-panel impedance/angle meter (scaled in ohms and degrees), and retains its original calibration data plate (Table 5-1) with factory-recorded dial readings for serial no. 1248. Housed in a painted steel enclosure with a carry handle and latch closure.
